In the humid heat of July project partners from Germany and Pakistan met for the Kickoff conference of the InoCottonGrow project in Pakistan. German demand of cotton-textile products is responsible for substantial waterconsumption and wastewater effluents in semiarid countries like Pakistan. InoCottonGROW aims to contribute to sustainable water resources management “from cotton field to hanger”.
The National Textile University (NTU) in Faisalabad was an excellent host for the conference and organized visits to the textile industry. With the University of Agriculture Faisalabad we visited research fields and cooperating farmers.
