Versatility as a discipline
Our range of services is as broad as the challenges we work on. The FiW is organised into specialist areas: Wastewater Technology & Process Development, Energy Technology & Sector Coupling, Water Management & Climate Impact Adaptation, Resource Management & International Cooperation, and Central Tasks, each of which is managed by a division manager.
Our services in research & development and consulting & transfer range from innovative urban water management topics to resource efficiency, participation processes, water management, climate impact adaptation, renewable energy systems, and bioeconomy to investment. We thus cover all relevant competencies to address the current challenges surrounding water and resource management.
The products of our work are new solutions, feasibility studies, recommendations for action, as well as process development and optimisation along the “Technology Readiness Level”. We bring processes from the laboratory to prototypes to market maturity and large-scale implementation. From the user side, we initiate and coordinate project developments, moderate dialogue projects with actors and stakeholders, and develop tailor-made solutions in international cooperation with partners from emerging and developing countries.
