WE ACHIEVE MORE TOGETHER

RWTH & Association
As a non-profit association and affiliated institute of RWTH Aachen University, we put research findings into practical application – we work towards this goal with a team of over 40 employees and a strong network of partners. The FiW e. V. association includes special-purpose water associations, municipal drainage companies, utility companies, planning offices, RWTH Aachen University and individual members who work on a voluntary basis to achieve the association's goals.

acwa
The FiW has a long history and particularly close cooperation with the Institute for Urban Water Management at RWTH Aachen University (ISA) and the Testing and Development Institute for Wastewater Technology at RWTH Aachen University (PIA). The three institutes work together as ‘acwa – Aachen Wasser’ and exploit synergies in terms of content and expertise in joint project work.

JRF & Zuse
The FiW is a founding member of the Johannes Rau Research Association (JRF) and the Zuse Association. As a member of the JRF, the FiW receives institutional funding from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Networking with institutes from a wide range of disciplines promotes the development of innovative ideas and new projects in particular. The two research associations represent the interests of research in small and medium-sized enterprises and ensure their visibility.
