For us, sustainable development in the water sector means the systematic integration of ecological sustainability, economic evaluation, and social equity. We are committed to aligning our work with the United Nations´ 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Both nationally, and internationally, we see it as our task to develop tailor-made solutions and implement them effectively within regional contexts.
We regard diverse local ecological, social, and economic conditions as both a challenge and a source of enrichment. They inspire innovative thinking and alternative approaches, fostering the development of practice- oriented, long-term strategies for the sustainable transformation of the water sector, energy supply, and resource use.
In international cooperation, we work closely with research and development partners. Co-design- the joint development and implementation of projects- is one of our trademarks. It enables us to analyze complex challenges such as climate change, water stress, population growth, and biodiversity loss, and to collaboratively develop context-specific solutions with local stakeholders.
Our core areas of work include the provision of water supply and sanitation services, sustainable water management, water reuse, and the management of heavy rainfall events, and periods of droughts. In addition, we address food security and energy supply. Our work encompasses both the development of new technological and organizational solutions and advising local authorities, companies, development banks and international organizations.
We place a particular emphasis on capacity building and the continuous professional development of experts to ensure the long-term implementation of sustainable solutions. Through our commitment, our established partner network, and the close engagement of local stakeholders, we contribute to shaping sustainable development as a shared responsibility in which all the actors play an active role.
We develop integrated sustainability management approaches and climate resilience strategies for the water sector that systematically link ecological, economic, and social requirements and translate them into internationally applicable, practice-oriented solutions.
