he kick-off meeting took place at the town hall of the City of Oelde, followed by an introduction to the process of the pilot plant by colleagues from the City of Oelde as well as the renasys directly at the wastewater treatment plant.
The City of Oelde plans to upgrade and expand its wastewater treatment plant. The goal is to construct a facility equipped with robust, efficient, and cost-effective technologies that meet increasingly stringent requirements and are oriented towards the future. For this purpose, the City of Oelde has initiated the piloting of a microfiltration, which could potentially replace the conventional primary clarification in the future. To test the innovative microfiltration technology developed by renasys, the City of Oelde has commissioned the FiW to provide scientific monitoring of the operation. As part of the 12-month monitoring period, we will advise on the experimental design and handle the processing and evaluation of the collected data. In doing so, we are focusing, among other things, on determining removal efficiencies for relevant wastewater parameters, assessing energy consumptions, as well as evaluating the dependency of treatment performance on varying influent conditions. On this basis, the City of Oelde will be able to make a well-founded, data-driven decision tailored to local conditions, providing a realistic and robust foundation for the planning of a full-scale facility.
