On behalf of the Emschergenossenschaft and Lippeverband (EGLV), the FiW has developed a concept for a digital river twin and tested it in the EGLV catchment area in collaboration with EGLV and the project partner Orthodrone. The results have now been published in the May issue of the “Korrespondenz Wasserwirtschaft”.
The digital river twin provides a holistic representation of a river system and enables proactive water management with an adaptive level of detail depending on different management tasks. Within the scope of the project, a minimum viable product of a digital river twin was developed for the Emscheroberlauf and a semiautomated unmanned arial system as a mobile sensor data solution in combination with a water quality model was successfully tested.
You can read the project’s results in the current issue of the “Korrespondenz Wasserwirtschaft” (17th Volume, or. 5, May 2024). Also, feel free to visit the IFAT presentation at the DWA booth (Halle B2) on May 15, 2024, at 3:30 PM by Dr. Dominik Leutnant (EGLV).
