DWA-RePhoR webinar on 13 October: experience reports on phosphorus recovery in real-world operation

On 13 October 2026, the German Association for Water, Wastewater and Waste (DWA) is holding a free online seminar on phosphorus recovery in real-world operation, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is held in cooperation with the funding measure "Regional Phosphorus Recycling" (RePhoR) of the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR). Experts from research and industry will share their experience with the technical implementation of phosphorus recovery.

The programme covers the full range of methods in use: recovery directly within the wastewater treatment process, thermochemical processes from sewage sludge, and wet-chemical recovery from sewage sludge ash. The presentations show how these methods perform in practice at pilot plants and full-scale demonstration facilities – and what challenges arise in the transition from research to practice. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Johannes Pinnekamp (FiW e. V., TransPhoR) will moderate the event.

Participation is free of charge. The webinar is aimed at stakeholders from politics, regulatory authorities, municipalities, industry, and science, as well as members of the public with an interest in the topic.
