E-MetO – Electrolysis Using Treated Water as an Interface Between Biological Methanation and Ozonation

Wastewater treatment plants with a high degree of self-generated energy have everything needed to produce green hydrogen and convert it into renewable methane (Bio-CNG): renewable electricity, water, and CO₂ from sewage gas. Whether – and how – such sector coupling can be implemented efficiently in practice as part of the energy transition is being explored in the E-MetO research project.
