IFWW general meeting and specialist colloquium at Ölmühle

IFWW promotes the exchange of scientific experience between its members from water and drinking water utilities, water boards, urban drainage companies, authorities, industry, engineering consultancies and research institutes, supports young scientists and maintains constant interaction between science and practice. This year's IFWW general meeting and specialist colloquium took place for the first time in the new FiW venue under the guidance of IFWW deputy chairman Dr. Dirk Waider (Gelsenwasser AG) and IFWW CEO Hermann Stepkes (WVER).

At the general meeting, Ms. Ulrike Franzke (StEB Köln) was elected chairwoman of the board. We congratulate and look forward to continuing our close cooperation.

The subsequent specialist colloquium shows the special concern of the IFWW to combine science and practice in an interdisciplinary way. The following topics were presented and passionately discussed.

  • Klimaneutrale Energieautarkie am Beispiel Wasserwerk Haltern – Heiko Döring, Gelsenwasser AG
  • Herausforderungen für die Wasserwirtschaft im Rheinischen Braunkohlerevier - Dorothee Levacher, LANUK
  • ENTfrachtEN: Kanalnetzsteuerung neu gedacht – Frank Rüsing, StEB Köln
  • Zukünftiges Potenzial der Kläranlage in dezentralen Infrastrukturen für Energie, Wasserstoff und Bioökonomie – Carl Fritsch, FiW an der RWTH Aachen e.V.
